A Gold Coast getaway doesn’t have to stop at the coastline. This spring, Tamborine Mountain offers a different kind of weekend: creative scarecrows, local entertainment and an afternoon worth taking your time over.
The Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival returns from 30 October to 1 November 2026, with a free trail across the mountain and a separate festival celebration at Cauldron Distillery on Saturday 31 October. It’s also featured in Experience Gold Coast’s upcoming event recommendations. Experience Gold Coast.
Follow the trail or settle in for the festival
From Friday to Sunday, the free Scarecrow Trail showcases creations by residents, businesses and community groups. Check the organiser’s trail map before setting out and choose the displays you would most like to visit. There’s no need to turn your day into a race around every stop.
Saturday’s main celebration takes place at Cauldron Distillery, 89–123 Hartley Road, Tamborine Mountain. Gates open at 12:30 pm, with the festival running 1–8 pm, Queensland time.
The programme includes live music, food vans, market stalls, face painting, Highland cows and the scarecrow awards. The organiser suggests bringing a chair or picnic blanket. Admission to this celebration is ticketed separately from the free trail; check current tickets and event updates before travelling.

Plan the journey as part of your day
At Greater Gold Coast Luxury Transfers, we can help you plan a private journey from your Gold Coast accommodation to Tamborine Mountain and back.
You might prefer a straightforward transfer to Saturday’s celebration, with a return pickup arranged in advance. Or you may want to discuss a tailored itinerary with selected trail stops before arriving at the distillery.
Those are different arrangements. Tell us which you have in mind so we can quote the actual journey, including any additional stops or waiting time. A point-to-point transfer does not automatically include a chauffeured day on the mountain.
For your return, agree on a collection time and suitable meeting point before the outing. Keep your phone available, and allow time to make your way from the festival to the agreed pickup location.
Flying in for a Gold Coast weekend?
GGCLT can also help with separate private transfers between Gold Coast or Brisbane Airport and your accommodation.
Share your flight details, hotel and festival plans when enquiring. We can discuss the journeys together while confirming the fare and availability for each booking. If you’re travelling straight from the airport, include your luggage requirements and leave room in the itinerary for arrival formalities and possible flight delays.
Travelling with children, mobility equipment or bulky picnic gear? Mention those requirements before booking so we can confirm a suitable arrangement.
